Development of the Life Sciences Location Tyrol - Objectives, Status, Outlook | Petra Stöckl - Standortagentur Tirol

Petra Stöckl is program manager for the Life Sciences Location Development in Tyrol, a strategic program of Lebensraum Tirol Holding, implemented by Standortagentur Tirol. Further, she is responsible for the thematic platform "Health and Wellbeing" at Standortagentur Tirol.

After completing her PhD in zoology at the University of Innsbruck, she went on to study the molecular mechanisms of ageing at the Institute for Biomedical Aging Research in Innsbruck as part of another doctoral thesis. As a postdoc DDr. Stöckl worked at the Biomedical Aging Research as well as at the University Department of Psychiatry (Prof. Pidder Jansen-Dürr, Prof. Christian Humpel, Prof. Gerald Zernig). In parallel, an interest in the health care industry and the entrepreneurial translation of research results developed. This was followed by complementary training as a project manager and pharmaceutical sales representative.

After almost two years in the pharmaceutical sales force, DDr. Stöckl transfered to Standortagentur Tirol and, as cluster manager for the Cluster Life Sciences Tirol, promoted network support as well as the strategic development of the life sciences location Tyrol with a small team for more than 10 years. For the past 3 years, her professional focus as an experienced project manager has been pushing the development of the life sciences location - in close cooperation with the Health Hub Tirol.

Petra Stöckl is passionate about supporting innovation projects and research-intensive companies. The systemic approach - shaping the life sciences "ecosystem" in the efficient interaction of all players - is particularly important to her. A further ambition is to bring research results closer to an interested public, like, for example, the topic of evidence-based healthy nutrition.
